Your website content is one of the single most important aspects of Search Engine Optimization (SEO). It must be well thought out and structured well throughout your site. You will want to be sure you focus on how your product or service solves a problem or pain for the customer. This almost sounds too simple to work, but focusing on what you have to offer and how it solves the customers problem will pay substantial benefits for the long term.

Having a website will help you increase revenue, decrease expenses, and provide your customers with a higher level of service and support. Here are some examples of how your prospects will benefit from having a Web site.

Opt In

Confirmed opt-in has become the most rigorous method of obtaining permission to send email campaigns.

What does confirmed opt-in mean? And, is it for you? Well, first let's define the terms. Then, we'll discuss the advantages and disadvantages so that you can make your own decision - and I'll throw in my two cents.

Single Opt-In (with a subscriber acknowledgement email) is the most widely accepted and routinely used method of obtaining email addresses and permission. A single opt-in list is created by inviting visitors and customers to subscribe to your email list. When you use a signup tag on your website, a message immediately goes out to the subscriber acknowledging the subscription. This message should reiterate what the subscriber has signed up for, and provide an immediate way for the subscriber to edit her interests or opt-out.

Confirmed Opt-In (a.k.a. double opt-in) is a more stringent method of obtaining permission to send email campaigns. Confirmed opt-in adds an additional step to the opt-in process. It requires the subscriber to respond to a confirmation email, either by clicking on a confirmation link, or by replying to the email to confirm their subscription. Only those subscribers who take this additional step are added to your list.

ISPs and corporations are now doing everything they can to stem the tide of spam flowing into their users' email inboxes. Without a foolproof solution to turn to, some ISPs, like Road Runner (@rr.com email addresses), now require confirmed opt-in for email delivery. They do this because the subscription tracking capabilities associated with confirmed opt-in can help them differentiate legitimate commercial email from spam and protect their customers from receiving spam.

Is Confirmed Opt-in for You?

While usage of confirmed opt-in is not widespread today, and we can't tell just yet if it will become the industry standard, it is important to understand the advantages and disadvantages of confirmed opt-in so that you can make an educated decision on what is best for your business.

The Advantages:

In a nutshell, confirmed opt-in ensures that those who are receiving your email want to receive it; it can protect you against spam accusations; and it allows for email delivery to ISPs, like Road Runner, who require confirmed opt-in for email delivery.

The confirmed opt-in method prevents:
Email address collection without permission,
Accidental subscription due to email address typos, and
Subscriptions made by an unauthorized third party.

Key Word Selection

Choosing the right Keywords to target is of paramount importance to your success in search engine marketing.

Many online consumers know exactly what they are willing to spend when searching for retail products. You should try optimizing for products based on best value?

Example: "bridesmaid gifts under $20"
Example: "cars under $2000"
Example: "timeshare resale under $1000"
The above examples have low competition factors, so really think about how your target audience may be searching and optimize accordingly.

More online consumers know exactly what they're searching for when it comes to retail products. You should try optimizing for products by part or model number?
Example: nokia 8910 cell phone
Example: hp deskjet 5550 printer
Also, try adding "" quotes around your product and model number within the tag. For example, Looking for a "nokia 8910 cell phone?"

Email Marketing

Email marketing is one of the most powerful marketing tools available for communicating and developing relationships. But, email marketing can only be that powerful when its done well.

Using your standard email client (e.g. Outlook, Eudora, hotmail, AOL, Yahoo etc.) to send a Bcc text or HTML message to your list is not doing email marketing well. Why not? Because your standard email client is not designed for email marketing and therefore has significant limitations that can actually undermine vs. aid your email marketing efforts.

The good news is you do not have to go it alone. There are Web-based email marketing services that are inexpensive and designed to make email marketing simple for the non-technical user. By using a good email marketing service, you can just easily avoid common mistakes and truly get the most out of your email marketing efforts.

Here are the top ten reasons you need an email marketing service. Coincidentally, these are also the top ten critical email marketing benefits that you will never get from any standard email client.

1. Are approved as bulk mailers
2. Follow professional mailing practices
3. Provide list hosting and management
4. Require no technical skill or support staff
5. Handle formatting
6. Create great looking emails
7. Get higher email deliverability
8. Deliver measurable results
9. Include frequent updates and enhancements
10. Comply with email laws

Ezines

An Ezine is a periodic publication distributed by email or posted on a website.

Ezines are typically tightly focused on a subject area. Ezines in concept are reworking of the popular magazine format of monthly, or weekly topical publications, in an electronic format.

Ezines range greatly in size and scope, from irregular newsletters reaching a handful of subscribers to daily journals reaching hundreds of thousands of subscribers.

Writing articles for ezines increases your visibility on the Internet. By writing articles, you establish your credibility as a market leader. By including your name, company name and website address, you will drive traffic back to your web site.

Banner Advertisements

Probably the most popular method of online advertising is through the use of banner ads. These are the advertisements, most often in rectangular boxes, that seem to appear on almost every page you look at on the Web. In addition to banner ads, some other ways you can advertise your online business include having your ad placed with a newsletter distribution service, and inserting your domain name (www.yourbiz.com) in offline advertisements.

If you are unfamiliar with the process of running a banner ad, then you'll be surprised at how fast you can actually start pulling in visitors with this medium. While in the offline world it can take months to actually get your advertisement placed in a publication, in the online world the whole process can be accomplished in a matter of days. Another advantage of online advertising is that you can change your ad in the middle of a campaign.

Affiliate Programs

Affiliate programs offer you a way to make money for your online business by advertising for other online businesses. In their simplest form, affiliate programs establish a business relationship between your business and another business, where you will receive a percentage, or a fee, for the sales that you generate for the other business. In a sense, by joining an affiliate program, you become an agent for another business and get a commission every time you sell something for that business. For instance, let's say that you joined an affiliate program that paid you a 15% commission on every sale that you made. If you sold an item worth $100, then you would receive a $15 commission from the affiliate program.

In order to join an affiliate program and begin earning commissions, you will be required to show a banner ad, or text link, for the other business on your Web site. For instance, if you join the Amazon.com affiliate program, you would place an Amazon.com banner ad on your Web site, with a special identification code, that links back to the Amazon.com site

Notifying Internet Portals and Directories

Getting listed with portals, search engines and directories is the beginning of your promotional campaign. By having your site properly indexed in these search engines, you stand a good chance of getting some visitors to your site. However, don't expect to have the world knocking at your door just because you have gotten your site listed in all of the major search engines.

Getting listed with the portals and directories can be done easily using an auto-posting service. You simply type, or cut and paste, the keywords and description for your online business in the appropriate boxes of the notification forms, and the auto-posting service will take care of the rest. In addition to getting your Web site listed across the Internet, many of these services will also analyze your site for loading speed, browser compatibility, and its ability to distinguish itself from the "crowd."

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Search engine optimization is the technique of fine-tuning your website so that it appears more frequently and with a higher ranking in search engines, thereby increasing free traffic to the site. Each search engine compiles a database of web pages which are then ranked by relevance when a particular search term is entered. Every search engine uses different algorithms in order to determine a web page's relevance for a given search.

Pay Per Click

Google AdWords Select (http://www.google.com/ads) and Overture (http://www.overture.com) are the two leading Pay-per-click players, but there are over 400 search engines using this model. They all work in more or less the same way. You bid on keywords and phrases that your target audience may use to find your site in the search engines. When they do a search for those keywords your ad or "sponsored listing" appears in a special section near the top or side of the search results.

The position of your ad depends on the amount you bid and the competition for your keywords, so selecting the best keywords is essential. You pay only when someone clicks through to your site.

Blogs

With a Blog, you can submit to the many Blog directories that exist online.

By submitting to the many blog directories in the proper category, you can expand your reach to targeted subscribers or readers who wants to read your posting on your area of specialization.

Blogs promote relationship building and trust with your readers, as it allows you to interact with them. Your readers can refer a friend and imagine the traffic power that can be generated if each one of your reader make a referral.

Chat Rooms

Use online chat rooms to promote your web site. Find the right chat room where your targeted audience would gather. Announce to everyone in the chat room something interesting or free that's offered on your web site. This will draw visitors to your web site. Always be aware of chat room rules before engaging the visitors in a sales pitch that could be considered spam.

Message Boards

A message board (also called a discussion forum or bulletin board) is a web-based tool that allows a group of users to discuss topics of interest with each other.

The most important function of a message board is to create a stronger connection between you and your customers. You may have the best product in the market, but if you cannot get enough feedback about your product, you will never know what your customers really think about it. A message board can provide you significantly better feedback about your product by allowing many-to-many connections

Opt In

Opt-in email is the opposite of "Spam" email. When people voluntarily sign-up to receive your electronic messages, they are "opting-in" to your mail list. Because they have actually requested information from you, your messages are not considered to be junk mail, spam, or unsolicited email.

Sending messages and information to people who have given you permission to contact them is a great way to build the kind of relationships that will encourage a steady flow of traffic to your website... and greatly increase your online sales!

Ebay

On average, Ebay receives 40 million hits daily, and of that, it's average user views 17 pages. Most listings get at least 50 very targeted views. If you can get listed on eBay's "The Pulse" (most popular internet auctions) you are guaranteed at least 5,000 visitors to that listing, and many of them will click through to your site, affiliate link, whatever makes you money.

You can probably understand why you should consider eBay one of the most unique prospects on the internet. It's like the search engines USED to be, where you are guaranteed hits and visitors no matter what the field, and where being outrageous pays off.

The Secret Behind Good Advertising: Have Fun!

Internet marketing for your online business can be a challenge, but internet marketing is extremely important to its success. When you make plans for internet marketing, your internet marketing strategy should be targeted at those who will need or want your internet marketing most. Make sure you find an internet marketing audience who is interested in what your internet marketing says. If you are selling hats that teenage girls would typically like, your internet marketing should take place in online spaces where teen girls are likely to be. Not only should your internet marketing be in the proper place, but your internet marketing should also be aimed at your specific internet marketing audience. For example, if you are using internet marketing to sell mens footwear, you will want internet marketing that appeals specifically to men.

Another internet marketing tip is to allow potential customers to develop interest in your internet marketing by employing fun and creative internet marketing techniques. If your internet marketing audience seems to respond well to fun, then your internet marketing technique needs to reflect that as much as possible. The best part of owning an online business and being in charge of your own internet marketing is that you are able to have fun with your internet marketing and business. When you have fun with your internet marketing, the people who respond to your internet marketing will probably be having fun as well. Jokes, off-the-wall humor, funny cartoons, silly puns, etc. can all have a valuable place in your internet marketing.

Additionally, remember that its not so much about cost when it comes to internet marketing. The real trick about internet marketing is knowing your audience and being as creative as possible in your internet marketing presentation. Additionally, before you begin your internet marketing campaign, be sure that your website is up and running in good shape. You do not want to begin internet marketing only to disappoint those who respond to your internet marketing.

Broadband Satellite Tv

Quite a few satellites orbit above the earths surface, over 50. These are spaced out two to three degrees apart. The satellites orbit at exactly the same speed and direction as the earth itself so that they remain in a fixed position above a particular area, which helps to make it easy for you to receive a signal.

Each satellite only covers around 1/3 of the world's surface, this is because it is the only area that is visible from the satellite's position. For certain broadband satellite tv to receive signals, what are known as "spot beams", are pointed directly down at certain times.

Massive multi national companies own the satellites used for brodband satellite tv. Newskies, Eutelsat, and Intelsat are three of these companies. Some national companies and regional operators are also available for you to subscribe to.

There are many features of a Broadband Satellite TV.

Internet service providers offer broadband satellite tv, these ISPs sell their services to consumers. Many of them provide free equipment to get you started and offer monthly subscriptions, each of which depends on the capacity you require (what channels).

When you subscribe to a broadband satellite TV provider, you will get a small satellite dish, which could be 60cm all the way through to 3.7m in diameter, and you'll get a receiver module, and a suitable transmit module. This equipment is vital to you being able to receive signals from the satellite broadband, and extracting data from your computer or network. If you have this equipment inside your home it can prepare your system for data transmission, whenever you click the mouse over the internet.

When you subscribe for broadband satellite tv, you will be paying for an amount of data, or a specific bit rate, such as 512k down. This means that when you download a file, the highest speed will be 512k bits. Most broadband satellite tv providers offer "shared bit rates", these will be limited or lower bit rates that offer a specified capacity that you will be sharing.

Its good to be aware that if you choose to use the sharing arrangements, you will be given a monthly upload and download limit. This is done to ensure that other users can block you from receiving broadcasts. The policies surrounding the 'fairness' can be complicated and will vary from one broadband satellite tv provider to the next.

If having limits puts you off, then you can subscribe with a CIR (continuous information rate) service that lets you upload and download unlimited data to your hearts content. Just expect a more expensive subscruption rate if you decide to go down this route, as they are generally used for commercial purposes, like internet cafes and other businesses that require large bit rates.

The Power of Blogs

What do you think of when you hear the word "blogging"? Many people think of a teenage girl's personal diary online. They wonder why any professional would ever have a blog.

Blogs have evolved, however, into a terrific tool to promote anything. Businesses are setting up blogs, as well as individuals, who want to promote their products. Blogs are the perfect tool for anyone who wants a presence on the World Wide Web.

Using free blogging software, such as Wordpress, you can have a site up in minutes. Spend a little extra time creating a header graphic and you can have a professional-looking site up in less than an hour.

Although many people still think "teenager's diary" when they hear the word blog, that is beginning to change. Professionals have found that using a blog to communicate with their audience is a great way to build excitement about an upcoming product launch, keep their buyers informed about updates, or just simply communicate with the world. What an inspiring thought that is - to communicate with the world!

It's true, though, that a blog puts each of us in a spotlight for the whole world to find us. Within a few hours of setting up a blog you can have traffic coming to visit. With a good ping list you simply make a post and dozens of sites are told (pinged) that you have added content to your blog. It really is that simple.

Another way to get traffic is to make relevant comments on other blogs with your blog's URL listed with your name. You can also go to answers.yahoo.com and answer questions in your field, again leaving your blog's URL with your name. If your answer is good, people will be inclined to visit your site to see what else you are saying about the topic.

If you regularly post, get links coming to the site, and provide good, solid content, you should succeed in getting a decent amount of traffic within a short time. There are blogs that are getting about 100 visitors a day after 3 months online and there are blogs getting a million visitors a day after a year. It depends a lot on the number of people interested in the topic.

Monetizing a blog is not hard. If you are selling a product then you will be focused on promoting your product. Don't provide the visitor very many choices except to buy your product. In other words, don't have Adsense or affiliate products on prominent pages. Place them on pages that visitors end up on if they are not interested in your product.

If you don't have a product then you can use an assortment of money-makers such as Adsense, Chitika, and affiliate products. If you go this route, don't depend on just one revenue source. Have several affiliate products, Clickbank products, and pay per click advertising.

There is no reason why anyone with a computer and an internet connection could not make money with a blog. It is very simple. The blog does most of the work. All you really have to do is set it up and then post interesting content. Don't put it off another day.

7 Essential Steps to Ranking Well in the Search Engines

Anyone who has a website knows the importance of attracting visitors to that site. No matter how professional a site you have and no matter how good the content on your site is, you simply can't be successful online until you have managed to find a way to bring in large numbers of relevant visitors to your sites. That is why it is important to learn how to properly optimize your site for the search engines. Because ranking well in the search engines is one of the best ways of driving masses of targeted visitors to your site each and every day. Here, then, are the 7 essential steps to ranking well in the search engines.

1. Only worry about the major search engines

There are basically only 3 search engines that you need to worry about Google, Yahoo, and MSN. Collectively these 3 search engines make up the vast majority of search traffic online each and every day. Oftentimes, even when you dont think you are using one of these search engines you actually are. For instance, Google provides search results for sites such as AOL and Yahoo provides search results for sites such as Altavista. At the end of the day, if someone is searching for something online, chances are they are searching at either Google, Yahoo or MSN.

2. Make sure that the search engines can read your site

Many times a site is programmed is such a way so as to make it difficult or impossible for the search engine spiders (the programs that the search engines use to analyze and organize the information found on websites). If the search engines cant process your website then you will not rank in the search engines at all, period! Therefore, it is essential that you (or your programmer) build a search engine friendly website.

3. Find the keywords that your customers use to search for your products and services

Right now there are people searching for your products and services online. Your goal is to find out what terms and phrases they use when searching for your products and services. Those are the exact terms and phrases that you want to optimize your site for. After all, what better time to turn up in the search engine results then when your customers are actively looking for the products and services that you sell!

4. Create specialized, focused web pages for your keywords

Once you have a list of relevant keywords, you will want to create pages on your site specifically for those phrases. Each of these pages should target only a small number of keywords (1 2 being ideal). You will then want to optimize this page for those keywords. This involves writing relevant content which uses your keyword phrases a number of times within the text of your webpage. This content should be of the highest quality as possible. This will both help with your search engine rankings as well as customer satisfaction, both of which are crucial to online success! In addition to writing good content, there are other important places to put your keyword phrases. To learn where those places our, visit our web page optimization tutorial at http://www.sembasics.com/sem-guides/web-page-optimization.

5. Get lots of high quality, incoming links

This point cant be emphasized enough. At the end of the day, high rankings come by getting other sites to link to your specialized, keyword-rich web pages. Whats more you want to make sure that those links come from topically related, popular sites. There are many ways to do this such as participating in blogs and forums, writing press releases, submitting your site to special directories and more. It is crucial that you learn all the various techniques involved in creating high-quality incoming links. To do so visit our link building strategies tutorial at http://www.sembasics.com/sem-guides/basic-link-building-strategy.

6. Track and improve upon your results

Most people dont want to take the time to analyze the results of their optimization campaign. Not only is this a tremendous mistake, it is also a great opportunity (for you). If you take the time to properly track how you optimization efforts are going and constantly work to improve upon your result you will be able to leave most of your competition far behind. At the end of the day, high rankings in the search engine are the result of learning how to fine tune your particular site to the particular keywords that you want to rank well for. General principles and theories are just that, general, that dont relate to you, your products, your customers, your website, or your rankings.

7. Stay up-to-date

It is crucial to understand that what works today may not work tomorrow (and what worked yesterday may very well be obsolete today). The search engines are constantly changing their algorithms and you need to change along with them. If you dont, your success will be short lived. As such, you need to keep yourself informed of the relevant changes that are taking place in the search engine. Here is a list of 5 sites that you should frequent to help keep you up-to-date in the world of search:

The Biggest Mistakes Society Makes

Are you frustrated with the events happening in your neighborhood, city, state, country, and/or the world? Have you wondered why history keeps repeating itself? Would you like some insights as to the causes of the problems and the solutions?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, then read the following with an open mind and you will be able to make more sense out of all the chaos and destruction. In my opinion, there are some basic underlying mistakes that societies keep making that are the causes of our ongoing problems.

A popular quote is: "If you keep doing the same things then expect the same results." Looking back over the history of civilization, there has always been violence, sickness, power hungry people, and greed. What are causing these negative symptoms?

The following are the biggest mistakes that society makes and the solutions. I can write a book about each one. However, here are same basic ones, as I see it as a Marriage, Family Therapist, teacher, mother, and planetary citizen.

1) Mistake: Value and focus mostly on educating the mind and rewarding physical activity (sports).

Truth: We all have four parts which are: mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional. Discounting or ignoring the latter two human parts can lead to disaster.

Action: It is also important to value and focus on the whole being by teaching people how to deal constructively with their emotions, and how to tap into their spirituality, which is their wisdom, unconditional love, and compassion.

2) Mistake: We are naturally good parents who can raise healthy children.

Truth: Most parents learn how to parent from their parents, and the dysfunctional patterns are passed down from generation to generation.

Action: Teach required parenting classes in school.

3) Mistake: Love is all you need for a healthy, successful relationship.

Truth: Love is not enough. It takes two people with high self-esteem and good communication skills to maintain a loving relationship.

Action: Schools offer required healthy relationship classes.

4) Mistake: Every class is an English class.

Truth: Every class is also a self-esteem class.

Action: Help the students feel good by being kind and complimentary to them. Honor and respect them. Tell them they are good enough, worthy, important, and lovable. Encourage them to be who they are. Teach them that mistakes are only lessons and that they are okay.

5) Mistake: People are born good communicators and problem solvers.

Truth: We learn how to communicate and solve problems from our parents, teachers, etc. It is human to have problems. The key is how to express your feelings and desires and create win-win solutions.

Action: Teach required communication and problem-solving classes.

6) Mistake: Teach boys that in order to be a man, they have to be tough (not soft), fearless (not admit their fears or hurts), and aggressive (physically and verbally demanding).

Truth: Boys and men have feelings just like girls and women, and they need to be taught to express them constructively and be assertive (share their truth unconditionally in a kind way).

Action: Encourage men to express their fears and hurts so they do not have to cover them up with anger and hurt others or themselves.

7) Mistake: Power means being in control of others.

Truth: True power is feeling good about yourself and helping others do the same.

Action: Help children feel good about themselves, and teach them how to be kind and supportive of others.

8) Mistake: Treat ailments and illness only on a physical level.

Truth: Most of the time, there is an emotional problem that is causing or aggravating the physical problem.

Action: Treat the whole person and that includes emotional problems.

9) Mistake: Welfare always serves people and our society.

Truth: Just financial support is important and helpful for those who are unable to work. However, when men and women are physically and mentally sound, they feel valued and important when they contribute in some meaningful way, and do something to improve their situation to become financially independent.

Action: Require appropriate hours of community service for able men and women, and offer government education and training for marketable skills.

10) Mistake: Allow bullying, verbal abuse, disrespect, and prejudice.

Truth: These are all symptoms of the person being misinformed or hurting. No matter our color, religion, nationality, we all need and bleed the same and deserve to be respected and accepted.

Action: Have a non-tolerance policy that is strictly enforced for all negative behaviors in school, work place, etc.

11) Mistake: It is helpful to punish people for abusing drugs and alcohol and committing crimes.

Truth: These destructive behaviors are just symptoms of pain and hurt. It is important to deal with the causes through therapy and rehabilitation.

Action: Require counseling and rehabilitation for anyone exhibiting these behaviors and for men and women in prison. The actions above will also help to prevent these problems.

12) Mistake: Focus on materialism for happiness and ignore the consequences to the environment.

Truth: Focus on internal happiness which comes from loving and liking yourself and making a positive difference with others and the planet.

Action: Teach children how to feel good, and be kind and caring to others and the environment.

These are just a few of the mistakes society makes that perpetuate our problems. It is important to always look for the causes of any problem and then take action to resolve it. Only then we can have healthy, fulfilling lives, and peace on earth as one global family.

10 Reasons to buy the Blackberry 8100 Pearl

This major update to the popular 7105t brings the Blackberry experience to a whole new level. Here are 10 reasons to buy the RIM Blackberry Pearl.

1. The Camera.

The Blackberry Pearl includes a 1.3-megapixel camera that features an LED flash, 5 times zoom and white balance controls. This is the first Blackberry to include a camera, and whilst at 1.3 Megapixel it is not as advanced as others on the market, it takes a great little photo and is a long overdue addition to the Blackberry.

2. MP3 Player.

This model includes other consumer features including an Mp3. The Blackberry music player supports playback of your tunes in MP3, AAC, AAC+, and eAAC+ formats. The handheld is also compatible with Java application and game downloads. You can create playlists as folders and shuffle and repeat songs within a certain folder. It also displays some track information, such as title, artist, and album art if available.

3. Expandable Memory.

Now that you can listen to your mp3s on the go with your Blackberry you are going to need somewhere to store all your favourite songs, not just a few of them. The blackberry Pearl also sports a memory card slot.

This is the first blackberry to include this feature.

4. Size and Design.

The Blackberry Pearl is sleek and stylish unlike typical business smartphones. At a form size of 4.2 by 2.0 by 0.5 inches; 3.1 ounces, the Pearl fits easily into a pocket or handbag, and unlike previous Blackberry models it does not look over-sized and silly when making calls. The Pearl is smaller than the Treo and Sidekick smartphones. It has a glossy black and chrome finish and will appeal to business users and general consumers alike.

5. The Screen.

The Blackberry Pearl sports a 2.25-inch TFT screen that displays 65,000 colors at a 240x260-pixel resolution. The screen is super sharp, clear and is reminiscent of a miniature plasma screen television. It is great for viewing emails and web browsing. Also included is light-sensing technology so the Pearl will adjust its brightness based on the conditions you are in.

6. The Pearl.

Gone is the classic Blackberry trackwheel. This phone features a trackball below the screen (The Pearl). The Pearl is easy to use and allows for 4 way scrolling. Its sensitivity can be adjusted and when pushed in, it acts as a select button. Whilst Blackberry users who are used to the trackwheel might initially experience some difficulties adapting to the Pearl it is very easy to adapt to. New Blackberry users will quickly take to it.

7. Maps

The Pearl is also the first Blackberry to come with a map application. Blackberry Maps provides local maps and allows you to get text-based driving directions straight to your Blackberry.

8. Email.

This is the feature that made the Blackberry so popular from the beginning. You can sync with your company's server with support for Microsoft Exchange, IBM Lotus Domino, or Novell GroupWise to deliver corporate e-mail in real time (Push email).

You can also support up to 10 POP3 or IMAP4 e-mail accounts.

The email set up wizard is very quick and simple to use.

9. Voice Dialling.

The Blackberry Pearl now offers voice dialling so you can set up voice commands for your contacts and use them to dial numbers.

10. Use it with a Mac.

The Blackberry Pearl is the most stylish smartphone on the market, so it makes sense to want to use it with the most stylish computers on the market. This can be done using a program called Pocketmac. Pocketmac is the first program to allow Mac users to sync their crucial data between their Blackberry device and Entourage, Address Book, iCal, Now Contact, Now Up-To-Date, and even Stickies.

Law Firm Internet Marketing An Executive Summary Using The Q&A Format Part I

What do I need to know first about law firm Internet marketing?

In modern business, it is not the crook who is feared most, it is the honest man who doesnt know what he is doing. Pablo Casals

There are tons of vendors out there who want to sell you websites and law firm Internet marketing services. Most are honest people who simply dont know what they are doing. In many cases, they are attempting to sell you something that is overpriced and that wont produce you any new clients at all, let alone good clients. The attorneys I have worked with report to me that the whole Internet marketing process confuses them. They dont know who to believe. Some have spent considerable sums already on websites with little or no results. I aim to stop all that. So keep reading.

Do I need law firm Internet marketing?

Yes. According to Reuters News Services by 2007 there will be over nine million legal services searches done online each month. Additionally, prospective clients and clients expect you to have at least a website or think you may be behind the times if you do not. Finally, while the yellow pages are not a good attorney marketing vehicle today they are going away since people are searching the Internet and not going to the yellow pages.

What is/is not law firm Internet marketing?

Having a website is not law firm Internet marketing. At a minimum you do need at least a brochure website of a few pages, however, that website is unlikely to get you new business and is definitely not Internet marketing. The rest of this article (in four parts) is going to help you get clear on what Internet marketing is all about.

Where does Internet marketing begin?

Law firm Internet marketing begins with you becoming an educated consumer and then keyword research. Researching your practices best keywords will tell us what words your prospective clients are using to search for legal services on search engines, what legal services your prospective clients are the most interested in, what your prospective client is thinking, how to attract these prospective clients to your site at the search engine instead of going to your competitors site, what your competitors are doing/not doing, what content to write for each of your top keywords (recommend writing a page each to at least the top 20 keywords), what are the words to use for PPC law firm advertising and how to begin search engine optimization. If you have not adequately completed keyword research using software tools like Wordtracker you have not done adequate keyword research and are likely to fail at your law firm Internet marketing.

You mentioned, what content to write for each of your top keywords. What are you talking about exactly?

I am talking about what is known as the CTPM model of Internet marketing developed by Ken Evoy M.D. in 1997. This model works because it is in total alignment with how the Internet works. The C is the first part of the model and it stands for Content create in demand content (you determine what is in demand from the keyword research). The T is Traffic attract targeted traffic. The P is for pre-sell pre-sell the targeted traffic (using such things as newsletters, RSS feeds, free downloads, e-books, autoresponders, audio, video, and teleclasses). The M is Monetize this is where you convert these pre-sold prospective clients to clients easily.

You mentioned, tools like Wordtracker with respect to keyword research in law firm Internet marketing. What is Wordtracker?

Wordtracker is a software tool that can be used to thoroughly research your keywords. Wordtracker is at least arguably the best keyword research tool in the marketplace and there are others. You can go to http://www.Wordtracker.com to get all the details. Your vendor can use this tool easily and should use it for keyword research to put your law firm internet marketing on the right track from the beginning if at all possible.

You also mentioned how to begin search engine optimization. What is meant by search engine optimization (SEO) and exactly what is it and how does it fit into law firm Internet marketing?

There is no mystery in SEO in particular and law firm Internet marketing in general so dont let anyone bamboozle you on that one. As I said earlier SEO begins with appropriate keyword research. If you have not done that you are dead in the water since this is the foundation of everything that comes after in law firm Internet marketing. The next step is the C or content mentioned earlier in the CTPM model. You will need to write keyword optimized content to each of your top 20 keywords or another way to say this is writing your content in the way that search engines want to see it so they rank you higher than your competitors. Your content needs to fit together in a site plan (the term site plan refers to in what order your pages will appear and how they link to one another) that has an appropriate pyramid type structure. This pyramid type structure includes your home page (the peak of the pyramid) themed keyword phrase being supported by all the tier two pages (the next layer of the pyramid) and their tier three pages (usually the base of your pyramid although you could go deeper) support them resulting in higher rankings for all of your pages. There are some technical aspects to SEO as well like the use of clean HTML, heading text, meta tags, alt tags, site map, etc., however, mercifully I wont go into those since they should be known to your technical person. The bottom line is put nothing in the way of the search engines spiders (spiders are sent out from the search engine to read the sites on the Internet) being able to read your site like fancy flash pages get in the way big time for instance. To know more in depth about keyword optimization you can go to http://www.Wordtracker.com where they have a really fine Keyword Research Guide if you want to know more of the details. All of what I just told you is known as on site optimization strategies for law firm Internet marketing. There is also off site optimization as well involved in SEO. Off site optimization means getting one-way links from high-ranking pages of other sites that are related to your top 20 keywords (there we are again with that keyword research being vital) that link to your site. Search engines see these links like a vote for your site. The more high quality votes you have the higher they will rank your site. The term link popularity is used to describe this process in law firm Internet marketing. The royal road to high quality links is having (here he goes again) keyword researched and keyword optimized quality content on your website. You get these links from website directories, article directories, online forums, press releases, etc. I left out reciprocal links because most SEO authorities think they are no longer worth the effort since they are difficult to get and dont really contribute much (or can even hurt) to your page ranking.

We have completed the first part of law firm Internet marketing at this point. In part two we will go into Google Page Ranking, dealing with your competitors, RSS, the factors surrounding costs of law firm Internet marketing and more. I am committed to you being a master of law firm internet marketing at least to the point you will get new clients from your efforts and not get taken to the cleaners by vendors who may not know any better.

Starting an Online Business- All By Yourself!

The best place to find a helping hand is at the end of your arm. That is an old Swedish proverb that hangs in my office. A little over a year ago I was a complete newbie to online businesses. I had absolutely no experience in building websites or HTML coding. I was completely green to the possibilities of the Internet.

In less than a year, I have 2 thriving online businesses and a few smaller ones as well. There is no doubt in my mind that within a few months, those small web businesses will be just as lucrative for me. I just need to find the time to grow and nurture them.

This is an article for the smart, down-and-dirty entrepreneur. This online business article speaks to those folks who truly and utterly get it. Starting an online business is easier than many think. The trick is to know who to trust and when to pay out. Read on for more detailed insights.

When to Do It Yourself

Truth be told, I am a huge fan of doing it yourself. I think the best online business owners are those that can reproduce a profitable web business in any niche. After all, a web business in the fitness industry is built the same as one in the knitting industry.

I could have paid someone thousands upon thousands of dollars to build my online business site. I decided against it though. At the end of the day I would not have gained any online business knowledge had someone else built my site.

I would not gain any knowledge about HTML, linking strategies, RSS feeds or anything else. I would have to pay a website builder thousands and thousands of dollars every single time I wanted to build a web business.

Let me ask you this: if there was a pain free, simple, hand holding guide that taught you to build an online business would you be interested? What if the guide was free? Well it is. You may contact me and I'll forward it to you. Learning the "how-to's" of building your own online business is one of the smartest investments you will ever make.

That guide will walk you through everything you need to know about creating an online business all by yourself. It talks about hosting, domain names, RSS feeds, linking strategies, newsletters, HTML coding (or the lack thereof necessary to build a site), search engine positioning and much more. It is a complete blue print to developing your online business.

When to Pay Someone

Just as I am a firm believer in building your website yourself, I believe in paying professionals from time to time. I outsource all graphic work to true graphic artists. I pay for logo designs, business card printing, and merchant accounts.

I believe in minimizing customer service issues. All of my billing is through a third party source. All of my products are digital or shipped directly from a third party company. They handle customer service. I simply refer their products.

The goal of a web business is to be profitable, efficient and fun! Being a web business owner is far better than being an employee. Think about that for a moment. You want to increase your profits. Create an online business by using all of your resources. Just recognize the difference of when to pay someone and when to learn it yourself.

Dusting Off A Dream: Writing Success At Any Age

Give me a stock clerk with a goal and I'll give you a man who will make history. Give me a man with no goals and I'll give you a stock clerk. - J.C. Penney

Country recording artist Tim McGraw confided in an interview that there was a guy at a 7-11 that could sing him under a table. So, why is that guy serving up Slurpees while Tim is performing to packed stadiums?

The reason is the same for writers as it is for singers. There are many incredibly gifted writers who will never have a book published. The reasons are many, but it often comes down to their willingness to follow a dream or to shelve the dream for other reasons some noble and some steeped in fear.

The young do not know enough to be prudent, and therefore they attempt the impossible -- and achieve it, generation after generation. - Pearl S. Buck

There is something about the idea of writing without fear. The dreams we may have once had do not need to remain a simple reference point for what ifs and mighta beens.

The good news about writing is that the more real-life experiences you have the more you may be able to relate. It is never too late to pick up a pen and began to compose something extraordinary.

Sometimes the only thing that will set you apart from a better writer is simply your willingness to write then share it with others.

"Self-trust is the first secret of success." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

The noble art of writing allows a wordsmith to venture into the hearts of humanity and welcome others to the exploration. Unlike certain other entertainment fields, becoming an author is something that can and is done at any age.

Success
Bessie Anderson Stanley

He has achieved success
who has lived well,
laughed often, and loved much;
who has enjoyed the trust of pure women,
the respect of intelligent men
and the love of little children;
who has filled his niche and accomplished his task;
who has left the world better than he found it
whether by an improved poppy,
a perfect poem, or a rescued soul;
who has never lacked appreciation of Earth's beauty
or failed to express it;
who has always looked for the best in others
and given them the best he had;
whose life was an inspiration;
whose memory a benediction.

Perhaps its time to dust off a dream.

SQL Tuning

Companies that rely upon database information obtained by SQL queries commonly encounter performance issues as their databases grow to contain mass amounts of information. Over time, the same processes that have historically proven successful may become inadequate when the application needs to accommodate thousands or millions of database records. Suppose a company has always utilized a process in which a SQL query looks for a name by checking the first row to see if it holds the specified name, and if not, checking the second row for the name, and so on. When this companys database held only fifty names, this method would have been perfectly efficient and acceptable. But how would the same query go about locating the same name once the companys database has expanded to contain a thousand names? What about twenty million? The query would use the same system and likely get the job done, but not very efficiently. The CPU usage and response time would be compromised as the query was forced to navigate through mass amounts of information seeking one single record.

Database expansion poses challenges to developers and business owners whose profitability relies on optimal software performance. When an indefinite amount of information is expected to be added to a database, it becomes apparent that fine tuned SQL statements are necessary to minimize CPU usage and response time, which is where SQL tuning comes in.

SQL tuning involves streamlining the process through which SQL queries locate the sought after information. Innovative enterprise data availability companies have developed software solutions with extensive capabilities which help analyze the performance of the code and automate the process of identifying the specific applications that are causing performance delays, with the goal of reducing the time and CPU usage required to implement a new application. Such technology allows developers to analyze, test and correct the performance of new or existing applications in a test environment without affecting production. Such technology also allows developers to identify what specific issues are having the greatest effect on performance, so that they may focus their energy on correcting the problems with the highest priority.

SQL tuning technology targets and significantly improves the performance of SQL applications, in turn increasing QA production and reducing the need for time-consuming manual testing. It also provides developers with a tool to help analyze and maximize the efficiency of their applications during development, thus increasing productivity as well as enhancing the quality of their work.

Project X Affiliate Marketing the Hype, the Hoopla, the Scam

The Hype

Let me be perfectly clear. When I received an email to purchase Project X, I deleted it from my inbox! I promised myself that I wasnt going to buy one more worthless product that wasn't going to put any money in my pocket.

The Hoopla

Are you like me? Fed up with all of the internet marketing ads that flood into your inbox? Are you tired of the endless opportunities that arrive on a daily basis to your email? I am so tired of every click flip, uncut, jerk this, butterfly that, tag, ping, money making scheme designed to make someone else rich.

The Scam

I was fully prepared to live my life without Project X. Then two of my friends, who make their living on the internet, started calling to tell me how great Project X is. They raved on and on until I finally relented and bought Project X. In the back of my mind I'm thinking that I'll just do this to prove them wrong, give it a try for 8 weeks and then get my money back.

The Truth

I'm here to tell you I admit it, I was WRONG! Project X is the first product in a long time that delivers on its promises! It's not only great for seasoned marketers but also for newbies just starting out. Often internet marketing products are either designed for total newbies and are paced way too slow for seasoned marketers. The same is true on the flip side. Products developed to challenge experienced marketers, are expected to move along at a fast clip and divulge lots of never before seen tips and tricks. Project X does both seamlessly. And I never felt I was being talked down to or that anything was over my head. Its very rare to find a product that can do both.

The author, Chris, offers six secret methods to launch yourself headfirst into affiliate marketing. Of the six, one is perfect for those just starting out or for anyone who doesn't have ready cash to invest. This method requires no domain purchase, no hosting fees, no websites! Too good to be true? The author claims that if you're willing to work, you can easily be making $40 - $200 a day 30 days from now! I believe him and Im no push over. Even as an experienced marketer, I found several jewels of information in Chris book that I have ever read anywhere before. Never even thought of before! Light bulbs were going off in my head as I was reading all his new ideas.

I had never heard of Chris before (so there was no name recognition here!) but after reading Project X from cover to cover, I have to tell you that I really like him. Why? Because he doesnt waste my time filling his pages with fluff. Project X is only 50 pages long. 50 pages of fast paced, blueprint methods. Best of all, its not all about Adsense. For anyone looking to get into multiple streams of income, this is the book for you. All for $97. I cant tell you the number of worthless products that Ive bought for twice that price and more!

You dont have to buy Project X, but others are and thats who youll be competing against in the days to come Do you really want to lose this advantage? I encourage you to do yourself a favor and get Chris book before he gets smart and raises the price.

Microsoft Dynamics GP Dexterity Customizations: Large Scale Projects

When we are talking about large scale integration and customization projects, when Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics GP business logic is improved by custom software development without compromising the initial modules reliability and upgradeability such business logic design requires initial architecture design, functional and technical logic expertise, selection of the proper tools. In this article we would like to give you some highlights:

Posting Logic challenge. It is probably relatively easy to place records into so called working tables in GP: SOP10100, SOP10200 are the most popular, when we deal with eCommerce. Also developer had such tools as eConnect ready to do this job. However the real challenge is to make posting logic work try to post Sales Order Processing invoice with eConnect. Yes, here you need to go beyond the simple things and at the same time do not try to rewrite several GP modules, participating in posting process imagine what will happen with version upgrade your posting imitation will required redesign from scratch? This task is for experienced Dexterity developer, familiar with GP Dexterity source code programming techniques.

Upgradeability. The best results could be achieved if you make portions of GP logic work for you, in this case future upgraded logic will be utilized with minimal revision. In the case of posting deployment you need the conception of GP posting server, which will be called every time when you have ready to be posted batch in line

Integrations. In the past we were recommending SQL stored procedures, today development should rely more on eConnect and its XML web services interface, which should be supplemented with posting server if business logic requires automatic posting. MP4 Player Wholesalers - Finding Quality Products And Suppliers In China

Importing electronic devices from China and other Asian countries is a very profitable business and lately the number of MP4 player wholesalers has skyrocketed. Why? Well, first of all because the largest consumer of electronic goods, the US market, is getting ready for the next step in portable entertainment MP4 players. The second reason for this new interest in MP4 player wholesalers and MP4 imports is that early product sampling and negotiations with the wholesaler could give US vendors and edge when the customers come rushing in to purchase MP4 players. You can checkout some of the newest MP4 models direct from China here: http://www.chinavasion.com/index.php/cName/mp4-players/

MP4 player samples

Although MP4 technology is fairly new, there are already dozens of MP4 video player manufacturers. One of the best ways to determine how valuable their product is and how reliable your business partner proves to be is by requesting samples of their products. Of course, there is no written rule for this process, and in most cases this will have to be negotiated on an individual basis. Small US-based vendors may have a hard time receiving free samples from different Chinese manufacturers and other MP4 player wholesalers. In such cases, it is up to the US vendor to decide whether they want to make a small investment and purchase several units or if they wish to sit back and watch how the market is evolving.

What to look for in a MP4 player product?

One of the key elements to reaching a wide and highly targeted consumer market is to anticipate their preference for the new products. In other words, you should not import tens of thousands of cheap and low-quality MP4 players if the public is looking for higher prices but better features and image quality.

Here are some features of a top quality MP4 player that should appeal to a large audience:

Memory: Built-in 1.8 inches 20GB Hard Disc, for example, would give you large capacity for storing whole movies in high resolution.
Connection: USB 2.0 for faster transfer speed.
Video playing: MPEG-4 format including DivX.
Resolution: QCIF/CIF/1/2D/2/3D and D1
Music Playing: MP3 / WMA formats
TV Recording: AV input / Video record
Picture format: JPEG and GIF
Internal power: rechargeable lithium ion battery
Acceptable battery time: Video - 3 hours, Audio - 5 hours
Accessories: USB cable, stereo earphones, installation CD, charger

Finding a reliable wholesaler

As with any type of business, you want to make sure that your business partner is reliable and trustworthy. For retailers looking for an overseas partner and an import business, the best solution is to go with a reputable supplier of MP4 players. While determining reputation is difficult, you should look for customer feedback, check out their website and definitely give them a call. A very well known source you can find is this chinese wholesaler: http://www.chinavasion.com/

You should be looking at China in particular for the lowest wholesale prices for MP4 and MP3 players. That's where they are all made these days. Professional MP4 player wholesalers located in China will always have an English translator ready to assist you and provide you with more details. Make sure to ask for samples and clarify all import transactions properly before you sign any contract. It is also advisable to consult other retailers and electronic product vendors to see who they partnered with in their business.

What You Need To Know About Ipod Docking Stations

The iPod docking station is probably the must have accessory to go with your iPod, especially if you are a constant or frequent user. The docking station allows the iPod to fully charge while still allowing the listener to enjoy their music without interruption. The docking station also keeps the iPod safe and secure, avoiding the chance of damage if it were simply left on a chair or on a table.

There are several different options in iPod docking stations and the choice is largely one of price and convenience. For the tiny iPod Nano, a simple docking cradle gives the basic stability to the player and allows the Nano to be synched to the computer for downloads while charging. While the simple cradle does not have speakers of its own, an audio-out port allows the Nano in the docking cradle to be connected to external speakers, headphones, or even through your computer to play all your favorite songs while charging the battery. Typically these smaller cradle style docking stations are less than $20.00 US.

Larger docking stations for iPod Video or MP3 players typically have built-in speakers on either side of the docking cradle. These speakers are designed to be ultra high quality to preserve the sound from the iPod itself. Many of the larger docking stations come with surround sound speakers, subwoofers, tweeters and 3-D sound processors for an amazing sound quality from a small package. As with the simple cradle docking stations, the iPod is easily connected to the computer with a USB cable or FireWire connection. This allows synchronizing and downloading of songs while charging the batteries on the iPod and listening to tracks through the speakers.

Some docking stations have optional battery power to charge the iPods, typically using four or more AA batteries. This additional battery feature makes it an ideal choice for having to connect to a computer in areas where there are not enough power outlets, or even for playing and charging your iPod outside or in remote areas. Most of the larger, speaker-equipped docking stations range in price from $30.00 to under $100.00. There are some very unique in-wall docking stations that keep your iPod in a safely recessed dock that is permanently mounted to a wall behind or near your computer, but these are usually quite a bit more expensive. In addition many of the docking stations also have radios and additional features to make them more versatile.

When purchasing an iPod docking station it is important to carefully read what size and type of iPod the docking station can handle. Typically iPod docking stations will have additional inserts to allow them to hold a Nano but not all can hold the smaller, new generation of iPods.

Through this, you can find out what your site visitors want and it can also help you discover the performance of different merchants when placed head to head.

If youre not doing this before, try to do it now - involve yourself in chat rooms and message boards related to the product you are reselling. This is one of the smartest ways to boost your affiliate income. As you start a conversation, try not to sell first; do it later on if you already established a relationship. Bring up the product you are reselling and if necessary, mention the benefits that your new friend can get out of that product.

Indulging yourself in making a free ebook with advertisement and links to your affiliate website could also help. Make sure that the subject and the content of the free book are written to compel and encourage your target audience to download it. Also, consider submitting this free ebook to some of the numerous ebook directories. These directories can help you gain more customers as they are always in a hunt for fresh content for their readers.

Why not make your own affiliate program directory? This is also another helpful method in making your affiliate marketing business grow. Its just like youre having your own search engine within your website. You can participate in a large number of affiliate programs and have them all listed in a directory format on your site. After that, just advertise and promote your free affiliate program directory.

You definitely dont have an edge over other competitors if you are using the same ads that all other affiliates are using. Make yours stand out by writing or making your own affiliate program ads. Using a unique and original ad will surely give you a big advantage over the other affiliates.

Then, try to advertise the product you are reselling using your own signature file. Have a catchy and attention-getting headline and give your readers a good reason why they should visit your affiliate site. Just make sure that your sig file doesnt exceed 5 lines.

You know web ring, right? Join in to the one that draws the audiences that you think would be interested in purchasing the product or services that you are reselling. It will also allow you to trade links on your own with other related websites.

It is also advisable to participate on web discussion boards. Search in for those that are associated to your field and feel free to post your comments, answer questions thrown by other people and raise your own question. Under each message you post, dont forget to incorporate your affiliate link text.

Make a free ezine or newsletter. You can use them to advertise the affiliate programs that youve joined. Dont forget to promote your ezine on your own website, then ask your site guests to sign up for free. Submitting it to online Ezine directories will also work.

Starting your own private website can also be very helpful. You can use it as a free bonus for people who bought the product you resell. Here, you could allow your visitors to join for free and you could also advertise the affiliate program youve participated in.

These are just few ideas that other affiliates are using to make their affiliate business grow. Try it and see how it works!

Microsoft Dynamics GP Dexterity Customization

Microsoft Great Plains software development, customizations, reporting. Microsoft Dexterity programming as reliable alternative to newer technologies and platforms, such as .Net, C# and VB MS Visual Studio development, eConnect, XML: Web Services.

Alba Spectrum Group is proud to announce Microsoft Great Plains Dexterity group development headcount increase. We are serving USA nation-wide from our Dexterity project management facilities in Houston, TX and Chicago, IL. Luis Leung (Alba Spectrum Texas) and Andrew Karasev (Alba Spectrum Illinois) are lead project managers for Microsoft Great Plains Dexterity customization, integration, reporting, form modification projects. Some Microsoft Dexterity technological features:

Sanscript. This is Dexterity programming language. It is actually compiled and stored in Dynamics.dic with development source code. Dex is cursor oriented DB accessing programming language, however you can also call MS SQL Server stored procedures (with SQL Select statement aggregation logic)

Alternate Forms. Technically you can modify any form you like in Dynamics.Dic original Microsoft Dynamics GP objects repository. But you might encounter future upgrade issues original forms are subject to redesign by Microsoft Dynamics subdivision without any notice

Dexterity Reports. As software developer you can create new Dexterity report, assuming that you will also provide new Dex form, where report will be getting parameters

Dexterity Alternatives. In 1990th the alternatives were VBA you could modify Greta Plains form with Modifier and include VBA scripting into your modification Dynamics.vba is the dictionary, storing your modification. In 2000th you have .Net instruments, such as eConnect with XML Web Services interface. Technically eConnect is very powerful, but comparing to Dexterity Dex has access to all Dynamics GP objects, while eConnect is secondary enabler it has access to objects, covered by eConnect development team. Future direction will probably give more options to Business Portal developer, using either eConnect or manipulating another future interface for Great Plains objects

Dexterity Advancements. These are typically related to Microsoft Great Plains Source Code Programming. Very good extension is posting server, allowing ecommerce developer automatically post GP batches in such modules as Sales Order Processing, GL, Inventory Control, POP, and others

Comparison to Other Microsoft Dynamics Products. Microsoft Dynamics ERP family include Axapta, Navision, Solomon and with some restrictions Microsoft CRM. Dexterity should be compared with similar technologies: Axapta Microsoft Dynamics AX MorphX / X++, Navision Microsoft Dynamics NAV C/SIDE

Heterogeneous. Or cross platform software development: Oracle, IBM, Sybase, Ingress: Oracle Financials/Ebusiness Suite, Lotus Notes Domino. Microsoft SQL Server technology gives you Linked Server concept, Oracle gives you similar technologies, plus from Java/J2EE you can create various JDBC/ODBC bridges or native drivers

The Appeal Of Free Online Games...

Why do we all play these games? What is the formula for the simple yet wildly addictive gameplay of these little Flash programs? Why is it that we find the time passing so quickly? We know they are simple, we know that we probably have better designs floating around on our hard drives, yet for some reason, we all come back to the tried and tested Flash game. What could that reason be?

Convenience? One of the main upsides to flash games is that you can pick up and play whenever you want, there is no preparation needed, no decisions to be made. You play when you want, for how long you want, you can pause the game if needed and quickly alt-tab when your teacher or boss comes over.

Simplicity? The easy controls and simple graphics mean that even people unaccustomed to the Internet or gaming can enjoy a little play on Flash games. Old or young, the designs are made to deliver gameplay without fluff, so it's easy to get something out of it.

Arcade-Style Competition? You are always playing against a score, you can always better yourself and rank higher than before. Everyone wants his or her name on the leader board. This is like the feel of an arcade, where the ultimate prize is your name being on top for all to see. In some countries, arcades are very competitive, and Flash games to a point bring this competition to everybody.

Infinite? Because of the nature of Flash games, you can never 'complete' most of them. In a normal game, when you slay the dragon, or finish the last level, you win. In a Flash game, your goals are only set by yourself, and once you achieve them, you can always set a higher one.

Calming? Lots of games can actually be very stressful. Games cause people to throw controllers, roar at screens and generally make a fool of themselves. Most Flash games feel a lot more 'fun' and 'casual' due to the nature of knowing you can get back to where you were fairly easily.

Cross-Platform? It doesn't matter if you use Windows, MacOS, Linux or any other web-ready operating system. Flash games are easily accessible to everybody, no matter where you are. You can even play them on some modern cellphones and handhelds. This allows users on different platforms to directly compete in a field, something rare in modern OS-specific gaming.

Nostalgia? Many Flash games are clones of Arcade favorites, from Breakout to Space Invaders to Asteroids. This allows us to identify better with them, as they are 'blasts from the past', we feel that we are somewhat re-living our past with these little gems. As proven by the constant success of arcade bundles and arcade ports, nostalgia is a powerful factor in the industry.

These are all fairly obvious reasons why Flash games are appreciated, along with the ease of finding them, and of course, the point that they are FREE. Man has, since the beginning of time, always enjoyed getting something for nothing. It is in our nature to attempt to make this 'profit'. By playing a free game, we know that if we don't enjoy it, we don't lose out on anything, we can simply move on and try another one.

It is this experimentation which allows people to find a game that they really enjoy. The huge variety of online Flash games, combined with the fact that there is no financial or large time investment means that there really is an enjoyable experience to be found for everybody, and more importantly, that people are inclined to find this enjoyable experience.

The Truth About Search Engine Optimization

Search engine optimization or SEO has been around for pretty much as long as search engines have. Over the years, it has gained both proponents and opponents many for good reason. The prevalence of sneaky, underhanded tactics, increasing spam in the search engine indexes, and publicized cases of websites being banned from the listings have given SEO a bad rap.

"SEO is just about tricking the search engines," some claim.

In an effort to de-bunk this and other wayward SEO beliefs, we have developed a list of 'top 5 myths about SEO'.

#1 SEO is all about tricking the search engines

In actuality, good, honest SEO is not about tricking, but analyzing search engine algorithms in an effort to develop websites in a way that consciously supports search engines in doing their job that is providing the most relevant content to their users. "White hat" SEOers understand that what's good for users is also typically good for search engines, and they strive to not 'trick' search engines, but be forthright in giving them exactly what they want.

#2 SEO is all about the meta-tags

In a previous life, webmasters would stuff the meta-keyword tag with their desired terms, and voila!, a top spot in the rankings. SEO was about the meta-tags and not much else. Whether this approach worked then or not, it most certainly does not today. In addition to the multitude of other 'on page' ranking factors that now seem to matter (such as keyword-rich copy, anchor text, and file names), sites now more than ever have to look 'off site' most importantly, at the volume and quality of their inbound links.

#3 You only have to do SEO once

A recipe for SEO failure: optimize your pages once, obtain great rankings, and let simmer forever. On the contrary, successful SEO requires on-going evaluation and tweaking of strategies in order maintain and enhance positioning. With search engine algorithms changing by the hour, searcher behaviour maturing, and the competitive environment constantly shifting, does it stand to reason that your rankings today will remain the same 6 months or weeks from now? Without an on-going commitment to SEO, probably not.

#4 Anyone can do SEO right

You read an e-book on SEO. You attended an SES conference. You're now a seasoned SEO expert, right? Wrong. Although SEO is definitely NOT rocket science, it does take a level of knowledge, and most importantly, experience, to really succeed. The knowledge that comes from testing out various techniques and working with a wide variety of websites over time is invaluable. Knowing how and why to select the right keywords is crucial, and understanding the impact of the site's design and coding on SEO is just as important. The bottom line: Yes, anyone can 'do' SEO, but it's much more difficult to really do it right.

#5 SEO is purely the webmaster's job

Your webmaster is responsible to make sure that the front and back end of the site performs as it should. They are typically a technical person; a programmer. They are definitely not marketers. They might implement the SEO changes to the site, but actually determining what should be changed should be in the hands of the content authors and marketing/comm people in your organization. Hoisting the full responsibility for SEO on the webmaster's shoulders can produce less than desirable results as these 'techies' struggle to imagine what a customer would type into a search engine, and then attempt to massage these words into your agency-perfected copy. Instead, make optimization a collective initiative ideally with the guidance of an SEO expert - and give your webmaster a break.

Important Facts About Mp3 And Mp4 Players

Mpeg-1 Audio Layer 3, more commonly referred to as mp3, is a popular digital audio encoding format. A device that is designed to greatly reduce the amount of data required to represent the audio recording, by retaining the sound from the original uncompressed state. Mp3 is an audio-specific compression format. By compressing, certain sounds that cannot be heard by the listener outside the normal human hearing range, are removed. This makes the sound clearly audible to the listener.

The mp3 players have changed the evolution of music. The good old records, eight-track tapes, cassette tapes and CDs no doubt gave the music lovers a good time but none of these earlier music formats provided the convenience and control that mp3 players provide. It is as convenient as keeping it in your hand or pocketing it. You can create personalized music lists and carry thousands of songs wherever you go. Mp3 players are offered in different shapes and sizes.

For those who want to be with the time by possessing the latest gadgets or be the first ones to have them, here is a list of some popular mp3 player brands: Apple, Archos, Creative, Olympus, RCA, Rio, Samsung, SanDisk, Sony and iRiver. Most of these have good amount of storage capacity, screen size, compatable to Apple MacOS X 10.3.4 or later, Microsoft Windows XP SP2 or later, Microsoft Windows 2000 SP4 or later.

Mpeg-4 Part 14, a multimedia container format commonly known as Mpeg-4. It is a device that stores digital audio and digital video streams, especially those defined by mpeg. Subtitles and still images are also stored. Mpeg-4 Part 14 allows streaming over the Internet. The filename extension for Mpeg-4 Part 14 files is .mp4, thus the name mp4. Devices that play .mp4 files are referred to as mp4 players.

The evolution of mp4 player devices has lead to providing more features such as fm tuner, voice recorder, email, and Internet browser capability. As it is capable of delivering audio and video at the same time, mp4 devices can offer a wide range of interesting features, such as web browsing, email, instant messaging, video and music download, Bluetooth wireless technology, digital camera and others. Not to forget the game capability, voice recording and multiple language options. The storage capacity is amazing which can start from 256 mega bites up to 40, 60 and up giga bites.

Mp4 is the next step in the evolution of music after mp3. The difference between mp4 and mp3 formats is that, mp4 devices hold both audio and video files. As for the mp3 it only holds the audio type file.

iPod is a brand of portable media players designed and marketed by Apple. The iPod name has become synonymous with mp3 or mp4 players as it is the most popular brand and holds the biggest share of the market. Devices in the iPod range are primarily digital audio players. These devices can be used to store an entire music library. This is not all, it can also be used to view and transfer photos, videos, games, and calendars to the models that support them.

With PDA-like functionality, text files can be displayed, while contacts and schedules can be viewed and synchronized with the host computer. It comes with built-in games like Brick, Parachute, Solitaire, and Music Quiz. It is condensed, brawny and frivolous, and is easy enough to carry along in your palm, in your pocket, or purse.

The storage capacity varies from 512 mb to 80+ gb. It has a powerful 60 mw amplifier so it can deliver audio as loud as you want. It also has a 20 MZ to 20 khz frequency responses. This means, you can hear distortion free music at the least pitches. iPod is a very handy mp3 mp4 player indeed!

Music for Nothing and Your Tracks for Free

Around the globe, the record industry has gone on the offensive and who can blame them? Faced with numerous peer-to-peer networks and bit torrent clients, it has never been easier for individuals to obtain music for free.

Having given birth to the term illegal downloading, the record industry claims the activity seriously threatens the development of music and artists. But does this argument have any validity or is it a clever corporate spin?

Whilst the record industry have not published any factual information to support this claim, there is certainly information to show that, those illegally downloading music actually spend, on average, some 27% more on music than those who exclusively confine their activity to the legal download sites and pay for every track in advance.

Recent research by the UK software house, Remlap Software, themselves a publisher of a music download application, suggests that, illegal downloaders are anything but the thieves the record industry labels them as.

The term illegal download is in itself an interesting phrase. While most people would define illegal as an activity which is outlawed under Criminal Law, the Oxford Dictionary merely states, contrary to law. The difference between public perception of the definition and the officially recognised version may only be a subtle, but it is powerful enough for the record industry to exploit.

Certainly they would have you believe that, illegal downloading of music is theft. In doing this, the record industry further re-enforces the public perception that such activities are in contrary to CRIMINAL law; with all the serious consequences such an offence implies. The truth of the matter is, there is no criminal offence in either the EU or USA of downloading music without paying for it.

At best, the record industry could claim that, illegal downloads are in violation of Civil Law, but even this would be spurious. Indeed if such a legal prospect were a reality, every YouTube visitor who has watched (and in doing so, downloaded) a video which violates someones copyright could be prosecuted. And so the whole notion of illegal downloads is a total nonsense.

In desperation, the record industry has scraped the bottom of the barrel, several times and now resorts to suing its own customers. But to date they have not been able to prosecute one case of illegal downloading. In every case they have sued on the allegation that the defendant has distributed music in violation of copyright. They have been able to do this, because the whole basis of peer-to-peer networks is that each user shares their music collection with the rest of the network. It is the act of sharing or distribution which is the offence, not what they have downloaded.

Their eternal effort to force the world to only use pay-for music download sites, the record industry has already persuaded a number of universities and ISPs to turn-off Bit Torrent and Peer-to-Peer traffic. So could this be the end of downloading music for free?

In response to this situation UK software developers, Remlap Software considered that there were probably more mp3 files sitting on web servers, than there are on all the peer-to-peer networks put togetherand they were right.

Their freeware application Clickster gives access to over 25 million individual tracks; all found on Internet web servers and available for download. With no sharing of the end-users own mp3 collection, Clickster is being hailed as the first legal mp3 downloader.

One of the great things about Clickster is that, because mp3s are being downloaded from a web-server and not from some guy on a dial-up connection 6000 miles away, the download speeds are much quicker. With an integral media player, tracks can be previewed/played without having to first download the file.

With Clickster clearly navigating around the latest attempts of the record industry to stamp out what they call illegal downloading, the future remains bright. And to paraphrase the Eighties rock-band, Dire Straitsget your music for nothing and your tracks for free.
